Elizabeth Blevins
Elizabeth is a soprano who first started singing at age eight when she auditioned for a children’s choir with the song, “Rainbow Connection.” While growing up in Atlanta GA, Elizabeth played the piano briefly, but mostly sang with various choirs in and out of school and attended a singing camp for several summers. At Bates College, along with singing in the college choir, Elizabeth co-founded the school’s first co-ed a capella group, the Crosstones, which is still going strong! Prior to IOC, Elizabeth sang with Musica Sacra in Cambridge MA for 8 years, making side appearances in friend’s weddings and as a soloist in the Belmont Open Sings.
Elizabeth has lived in the Bay Area since August 2007 after wrenching herself away from the east coast and is still trying to figure out how it’s possible for the seasons to all seem so similar. Elizabeth works as a teacher at a brand new charter high school in Hayward during the day and loves to bike ride and play darts on the weekends, saving Sunday nights for enchanting IOC rehearsals.
