Barry Kendall
A native of Arkansas, Barry started out in music like many folks in the South do, singin' for the Lord in the church choir. As a college student at Emory University in Atlanta, he sang with the University Chorus, the Concert Choir, and was a founding member of the school's first a cappella ensemble, No Strings Attached. He has also performed in many musical theater productions, including Grease, Oliver, Oklahoma!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Medea! The Musical.
Barry is the Executive Director of the Progressive Ideas Network, a non-partisan alliance of 30 leading think tanks producing policy and analysis on economic justice, sustainability, equal rights, and social movement building. He lives in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco with his wife Mirit and their two dogs, Grace and Jasmine. Barry spends his free time vegetable gardening, singing karaoke, eating his wife's gourmet cooking, and digging through the free book bin at the local bookstore. He is thrilled to be singing with the International Orange Chorale.
